Maven Business Network Seminars
The purpose of the Maven Business seminars is to enhance women’s professional success by teaching leadership skills in a judgment-free environment. Drawing on the wisdom of experts and latest research, these monthly workshops and events serve as an educational forum to foster women’s excellence and professional success. The premise of these sessions is that success stems from a combination of factors: self-discipline, tenacity, ambition, positive attitude, but also willingness to regularly upgrade one’s skills.
Registration Process
Upon registration, we require that new members include a brief description of their career interests and goals. The Maven Business Network advisor will contact members upon receipt of application.
12-Month Strategy Series
These 12 monthly sessions are designed to highlight the importance of personal development as a strategic investment to achieve sustainable success. Some of the topics include:
- how to develop an assertive, yet positive professional image and confidence
- how to turn your career goals into reality
- how to rethink personal and business interactions
- how to raise capital
- how to negotiate effectively
- how to make use of the web
- behavioural analysis
The seminars also focus on the following issues:
- what it means to articulate a creative (professional) vision
- why and how flexibility can make or break success
- how to embrace change
- how to manage time
- value of risk-taking (and many others)
Seminar Structure
Although all of our seminars and workshops are facilitated, the premise is to bolster women’s leadership skills. Individual group members are therefore encouraged to speak up, to give advice and suggestions and may even take turns in leading their respective groups. The Maven Business Network facilitator will provide helpful pointers and guidance prior to each workshop session. In other words, we believe in learning/leading by example.
Workshop Materials
Workshop materials include educational video contributions from accomplished women leaders, handouts, and PowerPoint presentations. Providing a context for a given seminar topic, the purpose of the PowerPoint presentations is to comment on organizational and business trends, challenges women experience in positions of leadership, and the latest research on women leaders.
Venue
All Maven Business Network seminars and workshops are carried out in a judgment-free, professional manner. Each seminar has an educational and networking/discussion component.
Our seminars and workshops are held at Maven Business Network (Women’s Post Offices, 3 Church St. suite 300, Toronto, M5E 1M2).
Custom-Designed Maven Business Network Workshops
We also offer custom-designed workshops for individual companies. Custom designed workshops and seminars can be offered directly on site.

Membership Rates

- Membership fee: $750 plus GST (or $70 paid monthly for a total of $840)
Custom-Design Maven Professional Series for Companies
- Membership fees rated on individual basis.
